The George Fox University (GFU) Men’s Tennis Team succeeded in claiming both the singles and doubles All-American titles at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Northwest Regional Championships in Walla Walla, Washington on Sept. 24.

During the summer of 2018, George Fox University (GFU) Plant Services staff and Portland-based contractor, General Tree Service, felled 26 problematic trees across campus that were long past their expiration date.

Over the course of the summer, many students came together to prepare for the opening of the Hadlock Student Center (HSC), George Fox University’s (GFU) new 48,000 square foot space designated for athletics, clubs and other school activities.

On Sep. 8, an emotionally exhausting and wild turn of events overshadowed the win of Naomi Osaka who beat her idol, Serena Williams, and claimed the Women’s U.S. Open.

A policy debate, sponsored by the American Enterprise Institute (AEI) and George Fox University (GFU), will be held on Nov. 3 on the GFU campus. Students will be given the chance to demonstrate their political knowledge and communication skills to win a $500 cash prize.

With their fourth consecutive win, George Fox University’s (GFU) baseball team is off to a great start this year. They have already won 14 games this season, compared to the two wins this time last year.

Alyssa Gonzalez and Madie Sorensen at George Fox University (GFU) were named Northwest Women’s Conference (NWC) Softball Position and Pitching Student-Athlete of the Week, respectively. This is the first NWC honor for Gonzalez and the third for Sorensen. Their plays were critical in helping the Bruins win five out of six games in the start of their season in February of this year.

Newberg’s popular bookstore and coffee shop, Chapters, is hosting an event so that musicians of all ranges can perform and talk about their music writing process. “Tuesday Night Music Club” is a night full of acoustic guitars, insight and coffee.
