With their fourth consecutive win, George Fox University’s (GFU) baseball team is off to a great start this year. They have already won 14 games this season, compared to the two wins this time last year.

Alyssa Gonzalez and Madie Sorensen at George Fox University (GFU) were named Northwest Women’s Conference (NWC) Softball Position and Pitching Student-Athlete of the Week, respectively. This is the first NWC honor for Gonzalez and the third for Sorensen. Their plays were critical in helping the Bruins win five out of six games in the start of their season in February of this year.

George Fox University’s (GFU) women’s basketball coach Michael Meek is the fastest coach in university history to reach 200 victories, with Meek about to enter his eighth season as head coach. But if you were to ask him about it, he gives all the credit to his players and his coaching staff.

After placing first in conference the last two years, George Fox University’s (GFU) women’s lacrosse team is beginning their fifth-ever season and shooting even higher. The team is adjusting to a new coach and new sport-wide rules, but the transition is going smoothly, according to players.

Once a student athlete at George Fox University (GFU), now the new Director of Athletics (AD), Adam Puckett feels right at home here in Newberg. He returns to GFU after 13 years in the corporate finance industry. His wish to one day come back to one of the places he loves most in this world has finally come true.

Four years ago, Julie Litchfield lived in a small town on the Kenai Peninsula in Alaska. She did not know what she wanted to do for college, except that she wanted to be a collegiate athlete. Fast-forward to today and Litchfield is graduating this year with a degree in biology and plans to attend graduate school in order to become a nurse practitioner. She is also one of the captains of the George Fox University (GFU) basketball team and is engaged to be married this summer.

After its 2014 return to George Fox University (GFU), the football team is starting to make its mark on the Northwest Conference, and is currently standing at number 19 in Division Three national polls for the 2017 season.
