We all know former president Donald Trump is on trial for something, but the details tend to be a bit hazy. He is currently facing many different charges in different states for different crimes, as well as looking at both civil and criminal penalties. Yet even with these pending charges and penalties, he’s still running for president and winning in Republican polls. So what exactly is happening with the Trump trial(s)? 

Nothing strikes quite as much fear in the heart of a college student as the words “student loan debt.” In the last few decades, the amount of debt required to receive an education has reached crisis levels, with the average student borrowing $32,637 to obtain a bachelor’s degree, and 54% of college graduates leaving school with debt. When Joe Biden became president, chief among his campaign promises was a plan for student loan forgiveness. As of October, the COVID-era pause on student loan repayment has ended, and there’s quite a bit of uncertainty about what borrowers can actually expect from the Biden administration. 

In the spring 2022, George Fox University (GFU) announced its newest construction project in a series of campus improvement projects. The largest undertaking was the construction of a new chapel which did not begin until summer 2023. According to Shawn Daley, chief strategy and business development officer for the Office of the President, the chapel is set to be complete and fully operational by October 2024.

As spring sports begin at George Fox University (GFU), the reigning Northwest Conference championship-winning track and field team is off to a great start in their early meets. This hot start seems to indicate a very successful indoor season, which saw several record-breaking performances and several athletes competing at the national championships.

The staff of Table 14, an organization dedicated to providing a community for Queer George Fox University(GFU) students, recently attended a Queer Christian Conference known as the Q Conference. 

     Steve Sherwood, founder of Table 14, noted that a key aspect of the conference was open conversation on the intersectionality of two identities: Queer and Christian. 

On Jan 16, in observance of the Martin Luther King Jr (MLK) holiday,  27 George Fox University (GFU) staff and students headed to Portland, Oregon to spend the day doing service.

   “We have Christ’s purposes around this; in that sense, we’re connected to Dr. King’s faith and his Christ-compelled mission,” said Rusty St. Cyr, university pastor.
