On Oct. 14, students and faculty of the Honors Program gathered in Armstrong House to join together in the dedication of the Dr. Garcia Reading Room, which is now home to the personal library of the late Dr. Javier Garcia.

Sometimes trying to locate resources on campus can feel like searching for Bigfoot, but the Mysteries of Murdock event brings Bigfoot and valuable resources directly to students. Mysteries of Murdock is designed to introduce students to important resources available at the library, including research material help, the Academic Resource Center (ARC), and Disability and Accessibility Services (DAS).

Prior to the start of the Fall 2021 semester, George Fox University (GFU) announced that it would not be requiring COVID-19 vaccinations of its students and staff, but would continue in its commitment to encouraging vaccinations, even providing an on-campus resource through a grant received by the The Interfaith Youth Core (IFCY).

Matthew Klein, 24, a George Fox University (GFU) student at the time, was arrested by the FBI on Mar. 23, as was his brother, Jonathanpeter Klein, 21, on Mar. 24, under accusations of breaching the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6.

On March 20th, the George Fox University (GFU) softball team swept Lewis and Clark 12-2, the team’s 250th win under head coach Jessica Hollen. When Hollen first joined the program in 2008, the team had accumulated a total of three wins.

As vaccinations are on the rise and COVID-19 cases are on the decline in Yamhill County, George Fox University’s (GFU) campus recreation team is prepared to re-launch intramural sports with a full season in the fall.

It’s officially spring and Newberg’s annual Camellia Festival is just around the corner. While the festival’s in-person activities were cancelled in 2020 due to COVID-19 concerns, it’s back in (almost) full force for 2021, some virtual activities included. The festival will take place in multiple locations throughout Newberg on April 10.
