For the men’s soccer team at George Fox University (GFU), this unique competitive season has been the perfect opportunity to strengthen the foundation of the relatively young team.

On Friday, the cultural enterprise deans held a town hall meeting in Bauman to address recent changes to the liberal arts and humanities programs. The meeting, which lasted over two hours, was held to “create space for dialogue” between students and faculty.

George Fox University (GFU) is progressing with plans to have spring sports and postponed fall sports begin during the spring semester. Spring, fall and winter sports seasons will overlap to give athletes the chance to play. In accordance with COVID-19 rules, GFU will have spectators watch the games over Zoom and GFU teams will only play other Northwest Conference schools.

The United States has rejoined the Paris Climate Agreement (PCA) after former President Donald Trump withdrew from the treaty in November of last year.

On Dec. 2 George Fox University (GFU) announced a tuition freeze for full time undergraduate students. This freeze will take effect for the 2021-22 academic school year, capping tuition at $37,840.

During an interview with The Crescent last fall, Provost Andrea Scott was frank about George Fox University’s (GFU) academic priorities; liberal arts programs weren’t going to make the cut. Keeping in line with Scott’s statement, the university announced a new general education plan, which included notable cuts to liberal arts programs.

Fall 2020 has been a season of change for the George Fox University (GFU) women’s soccer team. The most obvious alterations are the result of the pandemic, which has wreaked havoc on the traditional soccer season, pushing the competitive season into late spring and disrupting the daily practice structure.
