The Turning Point: Charlie Kirk’s Legacy Inspires Many

NEWBERG, Ore. - The very minute the fatal rifle round entered Charlie Kirk’s neck, something was put into motion. The man who did his best to set his message and career on Christ, left this world having started a wave, prompting people across the globe to turn—or return—to the Christian faith.
Charlie Kirk’s politics weren’t well-received by everyone. Some disagreed with him so much that they cheered at the news of his murder. What Kirk had to say often sparked controversy, but he always backed up what he said with Christ.
“Yes, Charlie Kirk was a towering figure in US politics, his razor-sharp social media takedowns making him a conservative icon,” said New York Post’s Colm Flynn. “But his call to live a Christian life echoed far beyond borders, touching millions of young hearts, and his Christian witness cut deeper than his fiery political rhetoric.”
Kirk stood first for his faith before all else. “I want to be remembered for courage for my faith,” he said. “That would be the most important thing. The most important thing is my faith.”
After his passing, his mission and cause are as potent as ever. Believers and non-believers across the world have been impacted, even on George Fox University (GFU)’s campus.
“The murder of Charlie Kirk has impacted me heavily,” said Zoe Fortner, a George Fox student and an officer at the TPUSA chapter on campus. “Charlie spoke highly of our God all the way to his death. He has inspired me to do the same.”
The reverence and sense of duty Fortner holds following Kirk’s murder is held by hundreds of thousands of people across the country. Even non-believers realize the movement that this tragedy has started.
“After Charlie Kirk’s death, I would say that I am against political violence now more than ever,” said an anonymous GFU student. “I am not too deeply affected by this tragedy, but I see people all around me who have been impacted, and his death will definitely cause a ripple effect.”
Charlie Kirk was, at his core, a husband, a father, and a human being devoted to God. That is how he left this world, and that is how he will be remembered as millions rekindle their faith because of his legacy.
